Rusty Blackbird (Euphagus carolinus), Rio Salado, Maricopa County

Rusty Blackbird is a casual migrant and winter visitor to wet areas in southern Arizona. There are only about a dozen accepted records of the species in Arizona, with 9 of them having occurred before 1990. This bird was found at Rio Salado in Phoenix on 30 December 2007 by Troy Corman and photographed on 1 January 2008 by Harold Bond. Documentation has been submitted to the Arizona Bird Committee for this Review Species.
