Long-tailed Duck (Clangula hyemalis), Roger Road Wastewater Treatment Plant , Tucson, Pima County

Long-tailed Duck is a rare migrant and wintering species in southern Arizona, typically in November and December (less common in northern Arizona). This female, found by Richard Lasky at the Roger Road Wastewater Treatment Plant in Tucson, Pima on 12 December 2006 was one of 5 reported statewide so far during early December.
