Grey Go-away-bird (Corythaixoides concolor), Tempe, Maricopa County

This exotic Grey Go-Away Bird was photographed on 22 March 2008 near the corner of W. 12th St. and Mill Ave in Tempe by Carol and Bill Crimmins.  The bird has been seen in this vicinity since at least 26 February 2008 (Karen Stucke).  A Grey Go-Away Bird was also seen at the Gilbert Water Ranch, 12 miles away, from July 2007 until the last report there on 16 February 2008 (Michael Moore and m.obs.).  Brendon Grice pointed out that the bird in this photograph has a broken tail feather on the left side.  Recent photos of the bird at Gilbert show the same broken tail feather, so they are the same bird!
