Common Grackle (Quiscalus quiscula), Tucson, Pima County

Despite increasing its range and population in New Mexico, the Common Grackle is still a seldom-found species in Arizona, occurring less than annually. This beautiful male of the interior or "bronzed" type was found in northeast Tucson on 10 December 2007 by Paul Lehman and photographed the same day by Chris Benesh. Photos and written details have been submitted to the Arizona Bird Committee for this Review Species.
