Rose-breasted Grosbeak (female) (Latin Name), Patagonia Lake State Park, Santa Cruz County

This Rose-breasted Grosbeak (female) was discovered and photographed by Kevin Swagel on 27 December 2008 at Patagonia State Park on the Sonita Creek Trail just East of the furthest Parking area.

Rose-breasted Grosbeak is casual in SE Arizona in winter and is listed as an "Accidental" species on the Sonoita Creek State Natural Area & Patagonia Lake State Park Birdlist that was published by the Arizona State Parks and revised in January, 2008.

Key features distinguishing this bird from female Black-headed Grosbeak are the completely pale pink bill and the extensive fine streaking on an off-white breast.
