Red-necked Phalarope (Phalaropus lobatus), Veterans Oasis Park , Maricopa County

This breeding plumaged male Red-necked Phalarope was discovered and photographed by Scott Frye on 24 May 2008 at Veterans Oasis Park in Chandler, AZ.  Red-necked Phalarope is a rare spring migrant in Maricopa County, as it is in most of Arizona away from the Lower Colorado River Valley and Willcox.
