Chestnut-sided Warbler (Dendroica pensylvanica), Hunts Hollow, Clarkdale, Yavapai County

This Chestnut-sided Warbler was discovered by Rob Hunt on the Jerome Christmas Bird Count on 14 December 2008 south of Clarkdale near the Yavapai Apache community.  It was photographed by Debbie Rasmussen on 27 December 2008.

Chestnut-sided Warbler is a casual transient and winter visitor to Arizona.

Even when it completely lacks any Chestnut on the sides, nonbreeding Chestnut-sided Warbler is a distinctive bright yellow-green above and unstreaked grayish-white below.  It also has wingbars and an eyering.  No other warbler has this combination of features.
