Black-throated Green Warbler (Setophaga virens), Whitetail Canyon, Chiricahua Mountains, Cochise County

This Black-throated Green Warbler was photographed by Rick Taylor on 15 October 2020.

Black-throated Green Warbler is a very rare to casual transient, and has occasionally over-wintered in the state.

This individual is a first fall bird; note the green, unstreaked crown and back, mostly white underparts with black streaking along the sides, the less distinct cheek patch (compared to Townsend's Warbler), and the yellowish vent.
