Tropical Parula (Setophaga pitiayumi), Huachuca Canyon, Cochise County

This Tropical Parula was photographed by Derik Bowen on 18 June 2020, by Jonathon Sleger on 19 June 2020 and by Patricia A. Isaacson on 21 June 2020

Reportedly present since 12 June 2020 it was first confirmed by Tom Sykes on 18 June 2020.

Eight previous state records (and one pending) are all between late May and early July. The single pending report is the sole fall report for the state.

Similar to a Northern Parula but shows a blue head with dark lores, lacking white eye arcs and has a yellow malar. More extensively yellow on the underparts.
