Canada Warbler (Cardellina canadensis), Page, Coconino County

This Canada Warbler was found and photographed by Roy Morris on 23 May 2020

One of the rarest "eastern" warblers in Arizona. with 12 previously accepted records (and one pending) the majority of which are from fall. A second individual was reported with this one.

With a good view, a Canada Warbler is essentially unmistakable.  Bold white eyering, yellow supraloral, and (most distinctively) short dark streaks form a "necklace" pattern across the upper breast.
