Kentucky Warbler (Geothlypis formosa), Chandler, Maricopa County

This Kentucky Warbler was found and photographed by Valerie Boman on 02 May 2020

A rare migrant in Arizona, more often seen in the spring.

Distinctive with entirely bright yellow underparts, blackish below around the eye running down along the edge of the malar (black on the face and crown is more extensive and solidly black on adult males) and a conspicuous yellow supercilium which wraps around the eye.
