Anna's x Broad-billed Hummingbird hybrid (Calypte anna x Cynanthus latirostris), Scottsdale, Maricopa County

This Anna's x Broad-billed Hummingbird hybrid was found and photographed by Brian Ison on 15 February 2020

Rare hybrid combination with only a handful of previous documented records, including one by this observer here.

Overall very similar to a Broad-billed Hummingbird but the gorget is slightly more Anna's like. Brian states that the song is like a male Anna's, but chase calls are like Broad-billed, a rapid "ji-dit".
