Whimbrel (Numenius phaeopus), Paloma Ranch, Maricopa County

This Whimbrel was found by by Charles Babbitt and Dave Pearson and photographed by Charles Babbitt on 18 April 2019

Rare migrant (mainly spring) away from Yuma County.

Distinguished (middle bird) from the Long-billed Curlews it is with by striped head , gray-brown plumage and shorter bill.
