This Blue-throated Hummingbird was found and photographed by Thomas R. Jones on 11 November 2018

This is a second Maricopa County record for Blue-throated Hummingbird. This bird is casual in Arizona away from mid to high elevations in southeast Arizona. This individual was banded.

Blue-throated Hummingbird is a very large and distinctive hummingbird. Key ID points include a medium-length bill, dark tail with large white corners, uniform grayish color below, and two white lines on face: one extending from the back of eye downward behind eye, and the other from the base of the bill down to the throat area.
