Kentucky Warbler (Geothlypis formosa), Box Canyon, Santa Rita Mountains, Pima County

This Kentucky Warbler was found by Daniel Hite and by Steven Prager on 15 April 2018 and photographed by Steven on the same date.

A rare migrant in Arizona, more often seen in the spring.

Distinctive with entirely bright yellow underparts, black below around the eye running down along the edge of the malar (with black on the face and crown more extensive and solidly black on adult males) and a conspicuous yellow supercillium which wraps around the eye.
