Yellow-green Vireo (Vireo flavoviridis), Tumacacori, Santa Cruz County

This Yellow-green Vireo was found and photographed by Chris Benesh on 05 August 2017

A casual visitor to Arizona with 12 accepted records with a couple more pending. This report falls in with previous records which have occurred between late May and mid August.

Resembling a Red-eyed Vireo but with a pale bill, muted face pattern without dark upper boundary to supercilium, and overall more yellowish tones to vent and and breast sides. Song also more clipped, less musical than Red-eyed Vireo, some notes sounding like chirping House Sparrow calls.
