Mew Gull (Larus canus), Rotary Park, Lake Havasu City, Mohave County

This Mew Gull was found and photographed by David Vander Pluym on 13 March 2017

Casual statewide but increasing in recent years in the lower Colorado River Valley.

Slightly smaller and thinner billed than a Ring-billed Gull, with a darker mantle and darker eye. Dark tip to bill and lack of white spots on the primaries indicate a 2nd cycle bird.
