Rufous-capped Warbler (Basileuterus rufifrons), Rock Corral Canyon, Santa Cruz County

This Rufous-capped Warbler was found and photographed by Sean Fitzgerald on 02 January 2017

Over twenty records, many involving multiple individuals, long staying birds, and breeding. This pair in a side canyon off Rock Corral Canyon is a new location for the species.

Unmistakeable, yellow throat and breast with rufous crown stripes and auriculars, and bold white supercilium.
