Eurasian Wigeon (Anas penelope), Sedona Wetlands Preserve, Yavapai County

This Eurasian Wigeon was found by Sam Hough on 10 December 2016 and photographed by Vic Nelson on 10 December 2016

Eurasian Wigeon is a rare fall and winter visitor to Arizona, most regular on ponds and golf courses in the Phoenix area.

Rufous-brown head with buff crown, blue bill with black tip. This individual appears to be molting, with some brown feathers on the flanks.
