Wood Thrush (Hylocichla mustelina), Meteor Crater Campground, Coconino County

This Wood Thrush was found by Chuck LaRue on 13 October 2016 and photographed by Tom Linda the same day.

Visitng a campground where birders are welcome, but ask permission to enter at the store.

If accepted by the ABC this would be a first county record, only the second in northern Arizona and eightenth over all.

Note the large, round black spots extensively on the breast and a bright rufous head that contrasts with the brown back.
