Yellow-throated Vireo (Vireo flavifrons), Cave Springs Campground, Oak Creek Canyon, Coconino County

This Yellow-throated Vireo was found by an unknown birder on 19 July 2016 and photographed by Jason Wilder on 21 July 2016

Rare, but regular transient and summer visitor, with more than 30 previous records, averaging about one record per year. There are very few records from Northern Arizona of this species and this appears to be the first record for Coconino County though there have been prior unsubmitted reports.

Yellow throat and spectacles. White wing bars and white undertail coverts. Vireo bill.
