Lesser Goldfinch (Spinus psaltria), Tucson Audubon's Mason Center, Pima County

This Lesser Goldfinch was found and photographed by Kendall Kroesen on 08 September 2015

This individual appears to be exhibiting carotenism; an overabundance of red pigment in the plumage. This gives an orange tinge to the brighter than normal yellow underparts. Compare especially with the other Lesser Goldfinches in the first photo.
