Black-chinned Hummingbird (Archilochus alexandri), Apache Junction, Pinal County

This leucistic Black-chinned Hummingbird was photographed by Samantha Starr on 23 August 2015

Leucism is relatively common in this species, though still rare. This individual shows scattered white feathers throughout the upperparts, on the breast and belly, and within the inner secondaries.
