Rufous-capped Warbler (Basileuterus rufifrons), Hunter Canyon, Cochise County

This Rufous-capped Warbler was photographed by Isaac Sanchez on 17 May 2015 and by Van Remsen on 23 August 2015 (when at least five birds were present). Rufous-capped Warblers were discovered in Hunter Canyon in September 2013. Although there were no reports between that month and March 2014, these birds have been reported consistently since the latter date.

Just over 20 records, some including multiple and long staying birds.

Broad rufous crown stripes and bright yellow breast make this species nearly unmistakeable
