Red Phalarope (Phalaropus fulicarius), Willcox Twin Lakes, Cochise County

This Red Phalarope was found by Steve Juhasz on 25 February and photographed by Christie Van Cleve on 26 February 2015

Red Phalaroe is a sketch detail species, considered rare to casual in southeast Arizona

Red Phalarope is the only phalarope with a stout bill. The pale base to the bill, plain gray unstreaked back and whiter crown also help set it apart from Red-necked Phalarope.
