Common Grackle (Quiscalus quiscula), Page, Arizona, Coconino County

This Common Grackle was found and photographed by Gerry Nealon on 29 January 2015

Said to be present for several days.

There are almost 30 records for the state. This species has been expanding in New Mexico and may be expected to occur more often in Arizona in the future.

Iridescent blue head contrasting with bronzy back and and wings, stout bill, light eyes. Compare with the Great-tailed Grackle in the second photo.
