Rufous-capped Warbler (Basileuterus rufifrons), Pena Blanca Lake, Santa Cruz County

This Rufous-capped Warbler was found and photographed by Paul Suchanek on 13 January 2015

Just over 20 records, some including multiple and long staying birds. This is a first report for this location though there are multiple reports for nearby areas in the Pajarito Mountains.

Broad rufous crown stripes and bright yellow breast make this species nearly unmistakeable.
