Mew Gull (Larus canus), Rotary Park, Lake Havasu City, Mohave County

This Mew Gull was found and photographed by David Vander Pluym on 04 December 2013

Casual but seemingly annual in recent years on the Lower Colorado River Valley.

Small size and thin small dull pink bill with a black tip. Largely brown, white, and gray gull with brown smudged underparts, brown tail, heavily brown flecked uppertail coverts, and brown unpatterned underwing coverts. These points rule out Ring-billed Gull.
