Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus), Lake Havasu Rotary Park, Mohave County

This Lesser Black-backed Gull discovered and photographed by John West on 26 November 2012.

There only two previous accepted records for Arizona.  This is one of two reported from the Lower Colorado River this year.  A second bird, in slightly different plumage was discovered on 30 November 2012 at Bill Williams.

All dark bill, dark wings (all dark centers to wing coverts), smudge around eye and pale upper tail coverts and broad terminal band on light colored tail.
