Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus), Alamo Lake State Park, La Paz County

This third cycle Lesser Black-backed Gull was discovered and photographed by David Moll on 26 February 2013 and photographed by Kurt Radamaker on 03 March 2013.

2 previous records and 2 other pending reports.  This is the first Arizona record of an adult.

Dark gray mantle and wings, pale iris, yellow legs, large bill, dark streaking on nape.  Only other dark mantled gull with yellow feet is Yellow-footed Gull which would have pure black wings, a more bulbous-tipped bill and a clean white head.  It would also be larger and not so long winged.
