Varied Thrush (Ixoreus naevius), Mineral Wash, La Paz County, La Paz County

This Varied Thrush was discovered by Jan Richmond and John West and  photographed by John West on 01 November 2012.  Mineral Wash is found out of Parker, AZ, then to Shea Road. Do NOT turn off at the Planet Ranch fork, but do continue down Mineral Wash a few hundred yards.

Rare migrant and winter visitor through much of the state, at least a few Varied Thrushes have been reported annually in recent years.

Unmistakable.  Eyeline, breast band, wing pattern separate from all superficially similar species.
