Pomarine Jaeger (Stercorarius pomarinus), Amado STP, Santa Cruz County

This Pomarine Jaeger was discovered and photographed by Dick dionne on 10 November 2012.

Including pending records, fewer than 8 have been previously reported in the state. 

Large jaeger with a big bill and long thick tail , strongly barred uppertail coverts.  Other photos not submitted showed barred undertail, partial tail "spoons" and double underwing flash of this bird.
