Pomarine Jaeger (Stercorarius pomarinus), Bill Williams River delta area, La Paz County

This Pomarine Jaeger was found by Wayne Painter, identified by Lauren Harter and David Vander Pluym and photographed by David Vander Pluym on 05 December 2011.

Prior to this year there were only 6 records of Pomarine Jaeger for the state, but this is the second report for Lake Havasu this year and one of the latest jaeger sightings for the state.

Large jaeger with a barrel chest. Cold brown plumage with strongly barred under tail and under wing coverts that contrasted with the flanks and sides. Upper tail coverts also barred. Also showed the double wing flash.
