Gray Catbird (Dumetella carolinensis), Slaughter Ranch, Cochise County

This Gray Catbird was discovered and photographed by Andy Bankert on 02 December 2011.

Gray Catbird is a rare but regular visitor in Arizona, other than a few riparian areas in the White Mountains where it is an uncommon breeder.

Slate gray bird with a distinctive black cap. It also has a black tail and rufous undertail coverts.
