Ovenbird (Seiurus aurocapilla), Agua Fria National Monument, Yavapai County

This Ovenbird was photographed by David Vander Pluym and Eric Hough on 23 October 2011. It was first found by Micah Rieger during the AZFO mini-expedition to the Agua Fria River off Bloody Basin Road the same day.

Ovenbird is a rare but annual transient in Arizona.

This is a distinctive walking warbler with dull olive-green upperparts, white eye-ring, two latural crown Stripes with an orange patch in the center, and dense streaking on the white underparts.
