Short-billed Dowitcher (Limnodromus griseus), Island STP, Lake Havasu City, Mohave County

This Short-billed Dowitcher was discovered and photographed by David Vander Pluym on 24 August 2011.

Rare to uncommon in Arizona and regular in fall in the LCRV.

Broad chestnut edging on the upperparts identify this as a juvenile and the barred tertials are diagnostic for Short-billed. The diagnostic calls were also heard
