Prothonotary Warbler (Protonotaria citrea), San Pedro House, Sierra Vista, Cochise County

This Prothonotary Warbler was discovered by unknown birders on 22 May 2011 and reported second hand by John Broz.  It was photographed by Rick Thompson on 24 May 2011.

Prothonotary Warbler is a rare transient in Arizona but occurs every year.

The combination of plain yellow head, grayish wings and large white tail spots is diagnostic for this species.
