Rufous-backed Robin (Turdus rufopalliatus), St. David Monastery, Cochise County

This Rufous-backed Robin was discovered and photographed by Arlene Ripley on 01 January 0011.

Rare but seemingly regular winter visitor to southeast Arizona with several usually reported every year.

Rusty back and upper wing coverts, dark streaking on mostly white throat, orange bill, and lack of white arcs around eye separate this species from American Robin.
