Heermann's Gull (Larus heermanni), Sweetwater Wetlands, Pima County

This Heermann's Gull was discovered by Dan Ginter, first reported by Bob and Sue Spahn and photographed by Andrew Core and Richard Fray on 08 November 2010

Heermann's Gull is a casual visitant to Arizona from the Gulf of California and occurs nearly year round, but most records from late fall. Although there are more than 35 records of Heermann's Gull in Arizona, none has ever stayed in one location for more than a day.

Unmistakable in adult plumage.
