Sabine's Gull (Xema sabini), Benson Sewage Treatment Plant, Cochise County

This Sabine's Gull was photographed by Arlene Ripley on 16 April 2010

Sabine's Gull is somewhat regular in fall, but only casual in spring.

The brown smudge on the neck indicates this is a first winter bird.  The small bill, light gray back and white face separate it from similarly plumaged immature Franklin's and Laughing Gulls.
