Harris's Sparrow (Zonotrichia querula), NE Tucson Private Residence, Pima County

This Harris's Sparrow has been present in a private yard for most of December 2010 and was photographed by Richard Carlson on 26 December 2010.

In SE Arizona, a casual transient and winter visitor.  Breeds near Timberline in Canada, winters on high plains from S. Dakota south to Texas

This is a juvenile bird; note malar stripes, buffy cheeks, scaly top of head, large orange bill.
