Arizona Woodpecker (Picoides arizonae), Woodland Rd. Tucson, AZ, Pima County
This Arizona Woodpecker was
discovered and photographed by Robert Payne on 21 November 2009.
Fairly common resident of middle elevation oaks in mountains of southern
Arizona, very rarely reported in the lowlands.
Unmarked brown back; red cap makes it a male.
