Ruddy Ground-Dove (Columbina talpacoti), De Anza Trail--Tubac, Santa Cruz County

Three Ruddy Ground-Doves were discovered by John Saba on 16 October 2009 just north of the bridge over the Santa Cruz River in Tubac.  The male was photographed by Andrew Core on 17 October 2009.

After a few years with a paucity of reports, Ruddy Ground-Dove has returned to being a rare but regular visitor to Arizona.  There have been multiple reports already this year.

Black lines on scapulars, gray head, ruddy body, lack of scaling on head.
