Berylline Hummingbird (Amazilia beryllina), Florida Canyon, Pima County

This banded adult male Berylline Hummingbird was photographed by Pierre Deviche on 28 July 2009 in Florida Canyon.  This may be the first physically documented report of this species from the county. 

Berylline Hummingbird is a rare but increasing summer visitor to the mountains of SE Arizona. It has bred.

Green hummingbird with diagnostic flash of rufous in the wings.
