Hybrid Common x Barrow's Goldeneye (Bucephala clangula x Bucephala islandica), Parker Dam, La Paz County

This hybrid Common x Barrow's Goldeneye was found and photographed by David Vander Pluym on 20 December 2018

Rare but a regular hybrid combination.

Hybrid Goldeneyes are rarely seen and could be mistaken for a pure bird. This bird shows an intermediate back pattern, and the white spot is neither a crescent nor rounded.
