Hybrid Northern Cardinal x Pyrrhuloxia (Cardinalis cardinalis x C. sinuatus), Rio Rico, Santa Cruz County

This Hybrid Northern Cardinal x Pyrrhuloxia (Cardinalis cardinalis x C. sinuatus) was found and photographed by Ron Batie on 17 May 2017

Few documented records of this hybrid combination, although this is the fifth one documented to the AZFO pages and Ron Batie notes "and this individual might be one of 2-4 other possible hybrids I've noticed in the past year."

Similar to a Pyrrhuloxia, but with a red orange bill, black face mask, and shorter crest.
